Today was CPR training and first aide! Of course I passed that easy peasy!( I know you all were worried I wouldn't lol) and tomorrow is tool training!

CTI

So we have been doing training all week! Tuesday we had red cross training, mostly disaster and mass incidents training. We touched shelter operations and will go more in depth tomorrow. It was very long and very dull. 8 hours of sitting in a theater.
Yesterday was diversity training. Which was awesome. It was one of the best diversity training i've done and was very emotionally draining! We also got our permanent teams:) I am wolf pack 7! Woot woot! My team leader, who happens o be my 'house dad', Jamie is very awesome! I'm in a team of ten! Andrea, Morris, Ariel, Mercedes, Meg, Eryn, Jake, Cody, Cassidy, and myself :)! So including Jamie there is 11 of us! Our van is big and red hahahaha! I'm very happy with my team and am super excited and pumped for this year!
Today was also a fun day! Unit, wolf woooooo, did basic rules and regulations. Then meet ALL of the wolf unit team leaders! We then meet with our teams and did some Ice breakers and bonding! Then we had safe children shelter training! I totally loved it! Maybe one of my favorite trainnings so far!
Tomorrow we will do shelter operation simulations and our first actual day of PT at 6am, ahhhgggg!!!!! But it's worth it right?
Below are pictures from this last week! Enjoy!!!

My team of four was the best lol! We call ourselfs team Rat Hole :)

Matt and his shovel!

This last week as been a blast! We have gone out to the local joint a couple of times, had a jam night, and finally started cti and had our physicals! Apparently I have major hearing loss in my L ear, but so does 75% of the people here hahaha!
The jam night was super fun! Couple of guys brought guitars and some harmonicas and we all jammed and sang:)

Out local hang out is called rendevouz, we call it the vouz! It's a blasty blast! Is a short walk down the road.

Snowmeggadon!!!

Snowmeggadon has struck again!

We have a snow day to say the least! We have shoveled out our walk ways and patio twice and probably will need to do another two rounds! I can actually say that I have shoveled snow now! It's kinda a big deal for me! I'm not used to snow like this! It's actually not that cold, it's the wind that's the worst! We keep having these tiny little white outs and they are saying to expect more!
At least here we have bulldozers around the clock!
I am amazed at how beautiful it is here! I am right ON the Chesapeake bay! The sun sets are AMAZING! I can't wait to get some good pics of them!
Tomorrow, depending on the weather, we will start to get our schedules and figure out what's going on the rest of the week. So that will be fun! Some of us are think of hitting up Baltimore this weekend. Or possibly DC, so we will see!

Bon voyage and arrival

So update time! I have made it safe and sound to Perry Point! Saturday I had my Bon voyage gathering, thank you for all that joined! I love you all!
Sunday I left and pretty much spent with my awesome family!

My flight was ok, I was supposed only a 3.5 hour lay over in Arizona but it turned into a 5.5 hour layover. I arrived in Philly at 7:30 am to lovely snowmaggedon and sat in the waiting lounge with other corps members for about three hours!
The snow has deffenitly delayed us. I arrived to campus around 11:30 and started all my paper work and got my uniforms and housing! I am part of the village people and live in a house with 6 other awesome females!

This is our house! It's fabulous! Its from the last turn of the century and totally has character and charm! My roomies are awesome! I share a room with one of the Kate's in the house!

I am having so much fun. Tonight myself and Kate B are doing our houses food shopping and Amanda is doing the emergency walmart run for the house. I have a cold and we need Tylenol an a bunch of Kleenex and some of the girls needs a pillow an bedding. And seeing as we are expecting 1-3 more feet of snow this evening we are trying to play catch up and get prepared. Looks like tomorrow will be a "grounded" due to weather. Couple of the houses are planing a monster snow ball fight!
I promise to post pic of the snow soon! XOXO
